Black Cincinnati Cinema Awards Film Submissions

Our goal is to celebrate the art first and the artist second. We accomplish this by allowing all races of people to win in any category except for Best Actor and Best Actress.

 

A film’s consideration for a Black Cincinnati Cinema Award must fall within the following guidelines.
- Only Cincinnati producers and directors can contribute films for consideration.
- Must have black lead character(s) no matter the story/genre.
- At least 50% of the film crew must be black.
- The runtime must be at least 10 minutes.
- Must be made within the previous two years.

Best Actor - Best Actress - Best Director - Best Cinematography - Best Costume Design - Best Makeup and Hairstyling - Best Original Screenplay - Best Sound - Best Production Design - Best Film Editing - Best Film

- A producer and/or director may not submit more than one of their films in a particular category.
- Films must be submitted by a YouTube or Vimeo link along with what category it’s representing.
 

Submissions will open Thursday, September 1, 2022, and close Saturday, October 1, 2022, at midnight. After a period of judging, nominees will be announced Monday, October 17, 2022, online. The winners of each category will be announced at the 2nd annual Black Cincinnati Cinema Awards Show on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Film Submission Guidelines

- Films must be in at least 1920 x 1080

- A producer and/or director may not submit more than one of their films in a particular category.
- Films must be submitted by a YouTube or Vimeo link along with what category it’s representing.

- Under each category put the name of the film and the link to the film. 

- For Best Actor and Actress put their name along with the name of the film.
